'The Church On The Move'

GTWC choir

In its inception, the church was situated in a rented hall in the center of Nairobi, with the name of Nairobi Gospel Tabernacle. In 1992, the church was forced to move without prior notice – a major setback in the eyes of man, but a chance for God to showcase His providence. The congregation erected a temporary structure on a piece of undeveloped land in the Nairobi South “B” area, officially allocated to the church by the City Council. Through the transition, the church lost almost all the six hundred members, due to commuter hardship and distance. To some thirty members, however, the grace of God was sufficient, and they started afresh. Later, they changed the name from Nairobi Gospel Tabernacle to Gospel Tabernacle Worship Center, "The Church on the Move. "
